Now that the gloves and boots are finally moving into storage, your fingers and toes could use a little TLC after all that winter. Here are six places that provide more than your average mani/pedi services.
Step away from the hustle and bustle of the Loop and into theWit’s fifth-floor spa. The pink mani/pedi room, flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows with skyline views, will deliver a jolt of spring energy, and your nails will feel like new after getting filed, buffed, and polished. 201 N. State St., 312-467-0200
Everyone could use a quiet, zen-like experience every now and then, but if you’re after pretty nails with a side of gossip from your best girlfriend, Old Town’s Polish & Pour will have you becoming a regular in no time. There’s a wall of every polish color you can imagine, and a full-service bar (plus: the salon is BYOB, too). Martini and mani Mondays, anyone? 1244 N. Wells St., 312-274-9935
Your fingernails and toes took a beating this winter. Bring them back to life with the Spa at JW Chicago’s Spa Manicure and Pedicure, where moisturizing that worn-out skin is a priority. The spa is located in a Daniel Burnham-designed building in the Loop, which makes a long pampering lunch doable for downtown workers. 151 W. Adams St., 312-660-8250
The spa within Soho House brings farmhouse-chic to the West Loop—think wood details, vintage sofas, and sparkling chandeliers—and is just the kind of place you’ll want to spend an afternoon (or, more accurately, every afternoon). Settle into one of the mani-pedi chairs and sit back as your winter skin is massaged, exfoliated, moisturized, and polished using Cowshed’s line of products featuring organic and botanical ingredients. 113 N. Green St., 312-754-6915
You could easily make a day out of the menu-long list of spa offerings at the serene Gold Coast favorite (which was voted the No. 3 spa in the country by Conde Nast Traveler readers). But when it comes time to choose your mani/pedi option, we suggest springing for The Waldorf Signature Manicure and Pedicure. The two-hour treat uses lava shells to soothe your joints and a warm paraffin treatment to hydrate your skin before the polish is painted on. 11 E. Walton St., Fourth Fl., 312-646-1310
If the original Kohler spa experience in Wisconsin isn’t in the cards, head 20 miles west of the city for a closer (and still luxurious) experience at the spa’s Burr Ridge outpost. Try the new 50-minute manicure, featuring honey-lavender-scented Moroccanoil, and the Darling Clementine Pedicure, which is available until the end of May. The latter will have you thinking spring with fresh citrus scents and a cactus wrap that tightens the skin just in time for shorts weather. 775 Village Center Dr., Burr Ridge, 630-323-7674
