Witness culinary craftsmanship in action as a trio of local chefs scour the Daley Plaza Farmers Market and prepare a dish using the fresh ingredients in an hour-long, Iron Chef-style competition. Participating chefs are Jared Van Camp of Nellcote and Thai Dang of Embeya, as well as former Top Chef finalist Beverly Kim Clark. Admission is free and open to the public. Chicago-based artist Hebru Brantley presents “Penny Candy,” a pop-up shop of his unique, graffiti-inspired artwork, this weekend with multiple nods to the nearby Lollapalooza music festival. The shop will features Giclee prints of his pieces, which have been exhibited around the world and commissioned by big-name musicians like Jay-Z and Lupe Fiasco. Merchandise like t-shirts, iPhone cases, and more will also don Brantley’s iconic images, and DJs and other musical guests will stop by the pop-up. 902 S. Wabash Ave.
