Sasha Adler and Lauren Gold, design directors at Nate Berkus Associates
This weekend, Grand Avenue will transform into a makeshift design district for Chicago’s second annual Design Harvest (October 1–2, 11 AM–8 PM). The street festival builds on the success of last year’s event and features dozens of design vendors—interior décor, furniture, stained glass, fabrics—as well as live music and some of the city’s best food trucks, such as Gaztro-Wagon and Culture Yogurt Society. But by far the most exciting part of this year’s Harvest is the involvement of Nate Berkus Associates. Berkus and company will “paint it forward” by offering paint color consultations ($10) to guests toting photos of rooms in need of a new hue. One hundred percent of consultation proceeds will benefit Talcott Elementary School’s cafeteria makeover.
