With an eclectic music scene, a burgeoning foodie empire and some down-home Southern hospitality, The Joseph hotel—and longtime Windy City restaurateurs Tony and Cathy Mantuano—beckons to Chicagoans.

After an epic tenure reigning over Chicago’s fine dining scene at Spiaggia, chef Tony Mantuano and his wine and hospitality expert wife, Cathy, quit the city for Nashville. “We were looking for something different—a new project,” Tony says. “We weren’t going to do just anything; we wanted something that excites us. The city, the project, the partnership—each of these things excites us.” Now, the food and bev powerhouse debut Yolan, Italian fine dining; Four Walls, a cocktail-infused speakeasy-meets-elevated bar snacks; and Denim, a rooftop bar and lounge with crowd-pleasing casual fare. On the menus expect an appealing range of dishes like lobster and saffron risotto, gnocchi, roasted whole fish, stretch- cured caciocavallo and a caviar service. “This is the beginning of a new tradition,” Tony declares.

In the heart of Music City’s bustling downtown, art sings. Conceptualized by Chicago- and Nashville- tied The Pizzuti Companies and named for family patriarch Joseph, newly bowed The Joseph, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Nashville draws on the Pizzutis’ respect, admiration and patronage of the arts.
Celebrating local, national and international artists, notable works line the walls, guest rooms and suites, and public spaces within the hotel—and no two pieces are alike. Throughout the contemporary space, guests can discover pieces from the Pizzutis’ personal archive, as well as The Tennessee Portfolio, which highlights artists with local ties.

Beyond ogling the hotel’s art and sleek design, find well-appointed guest rooms; expansive suites; a rooftop pool and bar with views spanning the Nashville skyline and the Cumberland River; full- service spa Rose; and on-site restaurants Yolan, Denim and Four Walls—developed and run by none other than Chicago’s own Tony and Cathy Mantuano. There’s a new star in town with serious Windy City flair.
