A flourless chocolate cake will be served with Leffe Brune at Riva’s beer dinner.
As part of a summer series hosted throughout the Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants brand, Navy Pier’s Riva Crab House will offer a beer dinner next week on July 16 (6:30 p.m.). Anheuser-Busch beermaster Marc Stroobandt specially selected the craft brews to accompany each of executive chef Luigi Garcia’s four courses.
The meal begins with a blue crab ravioli, served with hom smimenji mushrooms, zucchini, and shellfish broth, while an extra-light Leffe Blonde ale plays the perfect accompaniment. A salad course comes next, comprising organic asparagus, dried cherries, goat feta cheese, and white balsamic, paired with a pleasantly light Hoegaarden beer. For the main course, expect a twist on surf and turf: ahi tuna and strip loin, served with a medley of vegetables. For this course, Stella Artois appears as both a part of the demi glaze and the complementary beer. Dessert is a decadent flourless chocolate cake with salted caramel gelato and raspberry coulis served alongside Leffe Brune, a darker brew.
Riva’s beer dinner isn’t the only reason to stop by this summer. The resto’s gorgeous glimpses of the pier and Lake Michigan make it an ideal warm-weather date-night destination, or a great place to stop in after a day at Navy Pier. Reserve a seat at the beer dinner ($65) by calling the restaurant at 312-644-7482. 700 E. Grand Ave.
