With a major new watch boutique and several noteworthy new collections, all that glitters for 2017 is on Oak Street.
Bring the baubles! Spring ’17 on Oak Street means (LEFT AND BOTTOM RIGHT) sapphire and diamond Bombe earrings at Graff (price on request); luxe timepieces like the new Patek Philippe Ref. 5230G Men’s World Time in white gold with charcoal gray lacquered dial ($47,630), available at Razny Jewelers; and stunning AMT Jewelry pieces from local designer Alecia Tank Bern, like the Rose Soleil Drops ($8,310), available at Marshall Pierce.
More than ever, the Gold Coast is living up to its name, as Oak Street and its environs beckon with some of the city’s most premier jewelry destinations—including these three must-shop spots for spring.
Room for luxury. The Razny family is Chicago-area jewelry royalty; the latest gem in their crown is a sprawling new space that recently opened on Oak Street and devotes three stories and 7,500-plus square feet to two of the world’s most renowned timepiece brands. “When you’re selling luxury at the level of European-style Philippe Patek and Rolex, the relationship becomes a friendship,” says Stan Razny of the boutique’s event-ready second-floor lounge and private showrooms. 109 E. Oak St., 312-663-8500
Fresh spring color. Twinkling pieces from new collections at Graff Diamonds make a statement as winter melts away. “The whimsy of the floral Peony collection, the ultra-chic pear-shape hoops, and, of course, the glamorous bombe earrings—there’s something for everyone,” director Eve Rogers says. 103 E. Oak St., 312- 604-1000
Hand-crafted elegance. The organic drops, posts and pendants that make up AMT Jewelry’s Rose Soleil collection at Oak Street-adjacent Marshall Pierce & Company were inspired by romance: Local designer Alecia Bern looked to earrings she created for her own 2014 wedding to guide each piece. Says Bern, “[The collection is] really elegant and wearable.” 960 N. Michigan Ave., 312-642-4299
