One of Chicago’s most intriguing dining strips these days is Chicago Avenue in West Town, where botanical brewery Forbidden Root (1746 W. Chicago Ave., 312.929.2202) and Instagram sensation Beatnik (1604 W. Chicago Ave., 312.929.4945) have been joined by three very different—and equally tempting— newcomers.

Spanish brasserie Bar Biscay (1450 W. Chicago Ave., 312.455.8900) has made waves with its delectable pintxos and breezy European setting since its February debut. Go Greek at Six06 Cafe Bar (1641 W. Chicago Ave., 312.929.4911), with all-day breakfasts and classic Greek faves like saganaki and spanakopita. And chef Mark Steuer brings a German beer hall vibe with a Bavarian/Alsatian menu to match (“Big Ass Schnitzel,” anyone?) at his much-anticipated Funkenhausen (1709 W. Chicago Ave.).
