Chris Freeman, Chris Dexter, John Warken, and Jared Van Camp of Element Collective have a new concept for 2014.
Kinmont: Following successes with Nellcôte, Old Town Social, and RM Champagne Salon, Element Collective introduces Kinmont, a River North seafood spot, this February. Named for a type of fly fishing lure, the restaurant will serve up dishes featuring traditional seafood options, but also some less common “rough fish’” variations.
SideDoor: With a Rush Street entrance marked only by a large red key, SideDoor is a Midwestern gastropub from the culinary team behind Lawry’s The Prime Rib (which it’s also right around the corner from). Come February, look for signature beef sandwiches, artisanal cheeses and charcuterie for sharing, and a cocktail menu focused on darker spirits.
Tippling Hall: The much-anticipated next venture from Mercadito Hospitality puts the emphasis entirely on drinks with a beverage program conceived by Tippling Bros. Paul Tanguay and Tad Carducci. The casual atmosphere and loft space at Tippling Hall will set the perfect scene for late-night light bites when it opens in early 2014.
Ramen by Paris Club: The Melmans may not have a name yet for their newest resto, set to open in the former bar area of Paris Club in March, but they’ve definitely got a unique concept: a Ramen noodle-driven menu. The bar renovation will also result in a revamp of Paris Club itself, giving the dining room a more intimate French bistro atmosphere. Also in 2014: look out for RPM Steak, a spin-off from the restaurant family’s collaboration with Giuliana and Bill Rancic, RPM Italian.
