Step into spring with these must-have products from some of Chicago's favorite beauty brands.
Refresh your skin for spring 2017.
Rising temps mean lighter nail hues, shorter sleeves, and of course, a skin reboot. For a seamless transition, opt for products with plenty of active ingredients—like these, our favorite new releases for spring.
A proper regimen starts with a good lather. The Curative Cleanser from La Bella Figura ($80) cleans skin without stripping it dry, says co-founder and CEO Victoria Fantauzzi. Follow with the Chicago-based brand’s just-released Capsule Collection ($490), a wholly-customizable set of re-energizing serums.
Though warmer weather calls for lighter formulas, it’s also a good time to attack signs of aging brought on by the cold. “One of four types of wrinkles we get around the age of 40 are attributed to lack of moisture,” says Cheryl Santucci, director of esthetics at Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas (900 N. Michigan Ave., 847-202-1900). Available at the spa locations, Babor’s HSR lifting extra firming cream ($115) helps to repair loss of elasticity, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
For a more even skin tone, opt for I on Youth Collection by Irene Michaels CC Cream ($33). “Many of us enter spring with blotchy, dry patches that need soothing as much as camouflage,” says Michaels, a local entrepreneur.
And as we inch closer to summer, Sisley’s new White Ginger Contouring Leg Oil ($190; Nordstrom, 55 E. Grand Ave., 312-464-1515) will tone your stems thanks to essential oils of rosemary and white ginger extract.
