There’s plenty to be thankful for this holiday season, from spending time with friends and family to taking advantage of everything that Chicago has to offer. After a busy stretch—the finale of Mario Tricoci Salon & Day Spa’s Mario, Make Me a Model competition, Chicago Ideas Week and our unforgettable 10th anniversary celebration—I feel lucky to be in a city that celebrates its collective talents with such vigor and generous support
We may be entering the end of the year, but we’re not winding down. I’m especially excited to toast cover star and Chicago Bulls newcomer Jabari Parker at our upcoming issue release celebration. From celebrating Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp at Carnivale to feting Bastian Schweinsteiger at IO Godfrey, Michigan Avenue has a long tradition of showcasing the Windy City’s top athletes at incredible events. Parker himself is a Chicago native, enabling our team to fulfill its mission of honoring the talents of our stars.
Philanthropy is also of utmost importance for Michigan Avenue magazine. I love to champion the chief movers and shakers among our city’s do-gooders, including Quintin and Diane Primo, whose Primo Center for Women and Children is an invaluable cornerstone of our charitable scene. On Nov. 2, The One Gala returns for a very special fundraiser at The Geraghty. These affairs embody the spirit of the season and remind me that, year-round, there’s no shortage of blessings to count in Chicago.
