2018 has been quite a fun and wild ride. At the end of each year, I always think the next 12 months can’t possibly top what has just come to pass, but lo and behold, I’m always proved wrong. And the reason why is the same year after year: It’s because of the passionate loyalty, steadfast enthusiasm and enduring support of our readers, partners and the city at large. Thanks to you, we’re able to fulfill our mission of connecting, captivating and celebrating Chicago.

When you’re spotlighting the Windy City’s finest, you can’t help but end up with a highlight reel of memorable moments. We were at no shortage of them in our 10th anniversary year, either, including unforgettable issue release parties and events, memorable cover stars, must-read editorial features and more. From toasting Malin Akerman at Katana, feting Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman at Prime & Provisions, and saluting Darren Criss at The Marlowe to opening up the Mayne Stage doors for Jennifer Hudson and Jim Gaffigan—who also joined us for a performance afterparty at Tao Chicago—we celebrated that 10-year milestone with red carpet-worthy evenings galore. In executing these, I not only had a whole lot of fun, but, more importantly, I made new friends, formed exciting relationships personal and professional, and deepened an already unwavering passion for the media industry.

I’m sure you saw many of these moments documented online, in print and on social media. But it’s also what goes on behind the scenes—what doesn’t end up on your Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds—that’s equally as valuable and important to our brand. It’s the tireless work of our local team and the national Modern Luxury network that helps realize our vision, and I look forward to showing you what that vision holds for 2019!
