The latest from Michigan Avenue's Editor-in-Chief, J.P. Anderson.
Strutting for the camera with fab fashion duo Arden Fanning Andrews and Azeeza Khan.
Every fashionista needs a muse. Givenchy had Audrey Hepburn; Gaultier had Madonna; Marc Jacobs has Sofia Coppola. So as we started to plan our fashion-packed September issue, it felt perfectly fitting to make it a showcase of some of the city’s most dynamic sartorial duos and how they inspire each other. From avant-garde power couple Chelsea and Stephen Naparstek to besties Azeeza Khan and Arden Fanning Andrews, and Chicago newcomer and nonprofit exec Charles Montorio-Archer with his husband, Paolo, these three equally chic pairings couldn’t be more fabulously different, and we’re thrilled to spotlight their style in our pages this month.
The rest of the issue is just as fashion-forward—Deputy Editor Stephen Ostrowski profiles rising Chicago designer Sheila Rashid, famous for putting Chance the Rapper in tailored overalls; style guru Ikram Goldman waxes rhapsodic about bags from heritage brand Mark Cross; and legendary fashion photographer Victor Skrebneski celebrates the release of the latest volume dedicated to his iconic work. Add in a compelling roundup of must-see art exhibitions, an interview with Chicago P.D. star Tracy Spiridakos, a deep dive into the CBD trend and more, and it’s shaping up to be a seriously stylish, action-packed September.
