Beauty-minded pharma company Kythera Biopharmaceuticals has debuted Kybella, the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for that under-the-chin wobble—or, in medical terms, submental fat. “The perfect patient has isolated fullness in their chin region [but otherwise] good skin qualities so the area will retract after you’ve treated the fat,” adds Dr. Dan Krochmal of MAE Plastic Surgery in Northbrook, who notes that a session takes 10–15 minutes, with two–four sessions spaced out over several weeks for optimal results.
