Jesse Tyler Ferguson's company, Tie The Knot, debuts its spring line at The Tie Bar today.
Beginning today (February 26), Tie The Knot’s spring collection of bow ties is available exclusively at locally-based neckwear company, The Tie Bar. All of the proceeds from the new line go directly to the Respect for Marriage Coalition, a conglomerate of organizations working to end the Defense of Marriage Act. With the same-sex marriage bill still hanging in the balance for Illinois, the collection’s launch is especially timely.
Tie The Knot, Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s non-profit advocacy organization, releases a new line of bow ties each season to raise awareness for marriage equality. Designed by Ferguson and his fiancé Justin Mikita, the latest installment of handmade, silk bow ties ($25 each) is heavy on bold, bright colors. Ferguson and Mikita used New York City as their inspiration and invited a fellow Manhattan resident and recently married gay man, Issac Mizrahi, to be the label’s first-ever guest designer. Mizrahi’s eponymous bow tie debuts alongside the rest of the collection today.
Although the bow ties are self-tie, the spring collection also offers two signature clip-on versions for the younger set. Plus, if you still need a how-to on tying, Ferguson demonstrates the knotting process in a video at tietheknot.org.
