Sandals for winter? Yes, please, if they’re as stylish as these dazzlingly embellished beauties by Chicago designer Carolyn Rosenberg.

Embellished sandals made for Ikram by Carolyn Rosenberg.

Chicago designer Carolyn Rosenberg has been collaborating with elite boutique Ikram for 18 years, and it’s easy to see why owner Ikram Goldman is drawn to her work. “Carolyn has always had flair,” notes Goldman. “She’s supercreative and incredibly talented, and everything that she’s ever made for us flies out the door.”

Rosenberg’s latest creation for Ikram? A private-label line of comfort sandals bedazzled to the nines with sparkling stones and beads. For Goldman they’re a perfectly versatile mix of casual and incredibly chic, and she considers them essential wearing for this season and beyond. “When I saw these, I died and went to heaven,” Goldman enthuses. “They transform every outfit. I love them in winter with a really thick, embellished sock, or in the summer with a fishnet sock or bare feet.”

Best of all, says Goldman, they capture Rosenberg’s aesthetic to a T. “What I love about Carolyn’s work is its lightheartedness—she is lighthearted and that really comes through in everything she does, from the jewelry that she makes for me to the collars, the beading and the dresses. Her work is a pleasure to own and have on your body. Whenever I have something important to do in my life, I always put one of her pieces on. It’s like a reassurance piece; they always get the most comments and the most excitement from anything I ever wear.” Price upon request. Ikram, 15 E. Huron St., 312.587.1000
