Lincoln Park urban home emporium Jayson Home goes east, debuting its first brick-and-mortar popup shop in NYC’s Soho.
2017, it turns out, was a smashing year for interior retailer Jayson Home. For nearly two decades it has curated everything from objets and accents to sofas, chairs, lighting, tables, ottomans and rugs. Now the Chicago flagship, a 20,000-square-foot converted warehouse, is celebrating its 20-year anniversary on North Clybourn Avenue and has opened its first-ever pop-up in New York City, on Greene Street. The New York debut comes with much anticipation—home aficionados, as well as a devoted customer base of interior designers, stylists and design enthusiasts on the East Coast, adore its endless mix of items sourced from around the world. “Our NYC pop-up is so much more than a traditional retail space. In designing this store, our goal was to create an experience that allows both our existing fans and new customers to engage with the brand in a truly unique way,” says Caroline Scheeler, co-founder and creative director of Jayson Home. “Of course, we want people to shop, but we also want them to be inspired by what they see, and experience the world of Jayson Home from the moment they walk in the door.”
The 5,500-square-foot, two-story pop-up focuses on a full-scale design experience, including a floral shop; in-store workroom filled with custom fabrics and one-of-a-kind vintage items from around the globe; and features all of the categories for which the retailer is best known, including furniture, tabletop, pillows, art, great books, lighting, gifts, vintage and new rugs and home furnishings from stylish far-flung locales such as Morocco, Paris and Spain. 138 Greene St., New York, 646.892.3188, jaysonhome.com
