For a show unlike any other, head to Navy Pier’s open-air Skyline Stage to the see the unbelievable acts of Cirque Shanghai’s most daring show yet: Cirque Shanghai Extreme. The gravity defying show features stunts such as the floating cube aerial act, in which acrobats perform inside a giant cube suspended above the stage as a trapeze artist swings below a motorcycle on a tightrope. (We’re nervous just thinking about it.) Directed by Miao Miao Chen (herself a performer) and choreographed by Chicago’s own Brenda Didier, the show is a mix of Asian acrobatics and daredevil stunts. Order tickets now to attend the special performance scheduled for the fourth of July, preceding Navy Pier’s fireworks display, to get the most out of a family weekend in the city.
