On April 14, the Design Center at the Merchandise Mart will unveil its 12th annual DreamHome, showcasing six beautifully unique rooms creatively imagined by some of Chicago’s top designers. Head over to the Mart anytime between April 15 and December 4 of this year to load up on inspiration for complete room designs (You’ll be able to walk through a living room, dining room, foyer, library, sunroom, and bedroom), or one-off pieces for your own home.
The Mart will have a Designer-On-Call Monday through Friday who can help facilitate purchases of any specific DreamHome items from the luxury showrooms at the Design Center.
For the Dining Room
Designer Hunter Kaiser made a major statement with this oversized wing chair at the DreamHome dining table. The chair lends touches of whimsy and opulence to an otherwise formal setting.

For the Living Room
There’s nothing quite like statement lighting to transform a room, and that’s exactly what the chandelier in Shea Soucie and Martin Horner’s DreamHome living room does.
Designers Janet Blutter Shiff, and Asid and Lynn Boutross, spruced up the DreamHome foyer with this stunning-in-its-simplicity desk, but the design would be just as amazing in a home office. The simple, neutral rug in the DreamHome foyer brightens the space while letting the other pieces stand out.
Tom Riker and James Dolenc of jamesthomas Interiors created an all-at-once eclectic and classy sunroom that’s perfect for casual conversations or quiet reflection especially in the comfy lounge chairs.
