This month, alongside the return of EXPO Chicago (September 20-22), the Chicago Artists Coalition presents the inaugural EDITION Chicago—a more accessible art fair that introduces new collectors to pieces from lesser-known local galleries and artists. “We wanted EDITION to be a space for many different dialogs,” says EDITION creative director/exhibitor Andrew Rafacz. “We invited up-and-coming galleries in Chicago to participate alongside more established dealers from Boston, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Chicago. We wanted to infuse the fair with some interesting bandwidth while being supportive of our ever-burgeoning local contemporary art scene.”
Carolina O. Jayaram, executive director of the CAC, adds: “CAC’s mission to build a thriving creative marketplace partly entails cultivating collectors who support Chicago’s dealers and artists.” Here, a preview of what’s to come at the debut EDITION. Chicago Artists Coalition, 217 N. Carpenter St.
