He’s still on a high from all the buzz A Star Is Born received (he co-wrote many of the songs with Lady Gaga, and was nominated for a Grammy for producing her Born This Way album). But when DJ White Shadow—aka Paul Blair—is in the Windy City, he’s busy helping to organize programming for Chicago Ideas as part of the organization’s Brain Trust and seeking new music to add to his Dash app playlist that’s devoted to songs that bring happiness to listeners—“perfect for summer,” says the 43-year-old Glenview resident. Blair tours a ton, but won’t miss concerts like Diana Ross at the Chicago Theatre in July, or rock star fashion designer Virgil Abloh’s "Figures of Speech" exhibition opening at the MCA in June. Says the globetrotting DJ, “I’m proud to help support Virgil, my longtime friend and collaborator, with his landmark exhibit.”
