Chicago’s newest fitness studios make working out feel like a night at the club. Burn calories and have some serious fun at these three new additions to the city’s ever-evolving exercise scene.

This studio turns traditional notions of hot yoga upside down. Expect beat-driven music in infrared-heated, candlelit rooms without any mirrors, encouraging you to focus on your inner self (and the bumping tunes). The River North outpost, set to open this winter, is a long time coming for founder and CEO Sarah Larson Levey, a native Midwesterner. “We’ve been looking for our location in Chicago for almost two years now. We’ve had the opportunity to grow our brand and refine the experience, and are so excited to share it with Chicago,” she says. 800 N. Clark St.

This is the first VersaClimber studio in Chicago, and it only takes 30 minutes to torch mega calories on the souped-up step machine. “It’s an intense power, strength and cardio workout where you can burn between 400 and 800 calories per class,” explains president and co-owner Lindsey Williams. Enthusiastic instructors playing hit music make the time fly by. Follow your sweat session with some well-earned recovery: True to its name, there’s cryotherapy, compression therapy and infrared treatment on-site. It’s no wonder the studio is frequented by some of the city’s top NFL and NBA athletes. 300 W. Ontario St., 312.643.1144

After establishing brick-and-mortar locations in New York City, Boston and Washington, D.C., this self-proclaimed “rave meets workout” now has two permanent pop-up spaces in Chicago. The rave part: a live DJ and light show that create a truly partylike atmosphere. The workout part: an intense 45 minutes of cardio that blends dance with sport drills and high-intensity intervals. 501 W. North Ave., 312.422.5551; 1147 W. Jackson Blvd., 312.850.9744
