Bloomingdale’s new shoe department is double its original size and features brands like Christian Dior for the first time.
An early perk of Bloomingdale’s full-scale renovations—set to be completed this fall—is the unveiling of a brand new shoe department. The 14,000-square-foot space now occupies the third floor of Bloomingdale’s, the anchor of the 900 North Michigan Shops.
Double its original size, the new shoe department augmented its designer roster by welcoming labels like Giuseppe Zanotti, Chloe, Sigerson Morrison, Superga, and Nike to the Michigan Avenue location for the first time. We especially love the styles from another addition, Christian Dior. The designer’s simple patent pumps in electric blue ($710) offer an apropos pop of color for spring, while the nude pair is perfect for every outfit.
The space itself is a shopper’s dream: futuristic yet approachable, with mod light fixtures and geometric displays. The neutral color scheme covering the walls and hardwood floors lets the shoes take center stage—and with spring’s dominant styles coming in cool metallics and neon shades, the department will look absolutely artful. 900 N.
