North Shore fashionista and boutique owner Ashley Quicksilver dishes on her essential pieces for winter in Chicago.

Ashley Quicksilver has had a passion for fashion for as long as she can remember. Even at age seven, “[my grandmother] would take me shopping and I would pick out full outfits for her,” notes the effusive brunette. That enthusiasm has now come to life in Athene, Quicksilver’s new downtown Winnetka boutique, which is inspired by the “strong yet very feminine” Greek goddess and takes style cues from rock ‘n’ roll icons and Audrey Hepburn alike. The minimalist space showcases a luxe selection of women’s wear brands ranging from Rona Pfeiffer to Rick Owens—as well as these, Quicksilver’s three must-have pieces for winter.
Conquer the cold: The key to surviving and thriving in style this season? “Definitely a super-warm down coat,” says Quicksilver—like the Polish-made Tatras parka ($1,005), which features touches like a fur trim and a cinched waist that make for a “luxurious yet comfortable attitude.”
Shine bright: The holidays call for serious shimmer, and this season Quicksilver’s accessory of choice is The Woods diamond fringe necklace ($8,900), which provides “just the right amount of sparkle and glamour” while maintaining a down-to-earth vibe.
Glam it up: Skip the black dress and make a bold statement with RtA gold leather jeans ($1,190). Says the style maven, “They’ve got a frayed hem and are just really rocker and cool.” 837 Elm St., Winnetka, 847-441-1918
