Ah, January. Now that the excitement of the holidays is over, you might feel like there’s absolutely nothing to do in the city but hide out and hibernate until the snow melts and the temperatures climb back above freezing. Grab some inspiration/motivation from these five top Chicagoans, who told us what they do for fun in the winter.
“We’ve just opened our cycle studio, and when it’s frigid outside, it seems to be the one thing that motivates me to leave my house. Working out can be the one [thing] that people are more apt to skip it when it’s cold, but unlike a lot of workouts, to get heated and sweat is a huge motivator. I will get my butt out of bed at 5:15 in the morning to get that in to feel warm and really sweat.”
“You can always find us at East Bank Club working out, and going to the museums and the theater. Another place I like to hang out is Exhale. I love my restorative yoga class and getting a massage either before or after. I like Maple & Ash [for] really good comfort good—their Brussels sprouts and some of their vegetable and meat dishes really warm you up.”
