SAIC Students Present Window Display for Swarovski

To bolster excitement for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s upcoming fashion show and benefit gala, THE WALK 2012, the flagship Swarovski boutique on Michigan Avenue invited students to create a window display. The dazzling depiction of two whimsical flowers-in-bloom is constructed entirely of Swarovski jewelry (or fabric made of jewelry images and accented with crystals) and seems straight out of a Dr. Seuss storybook.
The partnership and Swarovski’s subsequent sponsoring of THE WALK benefit next week represent a long history of the brand’s connection to the arts. THE WALK will showcase garments made by the school’s largest ever class of graduating seniors from the Fashion Body & Garment Master’s Program on April 19. For tickets to THE WALK, call 312-499-4194 (prices start at $500). Or, stop by the Swarvoski boutique now through Monday to glimpse the gorgeous window display. 540 N. Michigan Ave. 312-464-0130
