Chicago Creation: Pyar & Co.'s Punchy Pillows

Pyar & Co.’s Lantana pillow ($193) from the spring 2012 collection provides the perfect pop of color on a neutral sofa. Available next month, the line features exquisite, hand-dyed velvet and delicate, hand-tied beadwork, a process that takes eight weeks to complete.
Paula Queen started Lincoln Park-based Pyar & Co. last year, after a trip to India introduced her to the sumptuous fabrics and patterns of Indian saris. Now, the brand custom designs eye-catching pillows from the finest Indian materials hand-picked by Queen from markets in Calcutta. While each pillow in the collection is beautifully unique—beads and metal studs are key design components—we are partial to the Lantana, which comes in pink and yellow (and can be custom dyed in other hues, too). The design pays homage to the ever-changing color of the Lantana flower, a native plant to India. Buckingham Interiors + Design Showroom, 1820 W. Grand Ave., 312-243-9975
