The legendary 162-year-old Omega Watch Company—maker of the only timepiece to land on the moon—is opening up shop at 909 North Michigan Avenue in the Windy City this November. The 1,400-square-foot space will offer the brand’s entire product palette, including pieces normally found only at Omega flagship stores.
Special displays within the boutique feature selections from the brand’s fine-jewelry and fine-leather collections in addition to timepieces. Past and current ambassador photos and posters will line the walls and the shop will host presentations created around launches and seasonal products. (Also look for a customer service center and consultation and warranty service on all Omega products.) Enlivening the façade of the boutique will be a theme of sun, water, earth and (naturally) time. “Chicago is a fascinating city and we are looking forward to establishing a solid presence in the American Midwest,” says Stephen Urquhart, president of Omega. “The so-called Second City is a center for trade and commerce but it has its own character. The Omega boutique will be a perfect way to showcase our products in what we know will be a great market for our brand.”
