Family Road Trip

As kids growing up on the East Coast, we remember how much we loved our epic family road trips. Back then, we would wake up around 4 am and climb into a crowded sedan, and we were always in high spirits about the trip ahead of us. We had carefully packed the essentials that would help pass the time: board games, maps and piles of our favorite magazines.

These days, the board games are Sony’s PSP; printed maps are nearly extinct in favor of a Garmin GPS; but magazines—yes, magazines are still an essential part of any trip, whether it’s a 10-hour drive or a plane ride to an exotic locale. And while we hope you always enjoy Michigan Avenue in print, you can now read it electronically on your iPad, your smart phone or our freshly redesigned website, michiganavemag.com.
