The interior of Tabula Tua provides a glimpse at its inventive inventory from the US and abroad.
You may pull out your grandmother’s stuffing recipe, but your Thanksgiving table will be anything but traditional with the inventive tabletop offerings at Lincoln Park housewares shop Tabula Tua. Whether you’re hosting a swanky sitdown, dressing up the takeout, or trying your hand at a bit of holiday bartending, a trip to West Armitage Avenue’s tableware mecca always turns up the latest finds, and this season’s offerings are particularly spectacular thanks to a patriotic twist.
Owner Grace Tsao-Wu has handpicked her latest collection with Americana on her mind: New collections from artisans and potters hailing from Goshen, Indiana; Welcome, Maryland; and Easthampton, Massachusetts, join Tabula Tua’s masterful designer mix. “Perhaps it’s election year on the brain,” laughs Tsao-Wu, who is also a member of President Obama’s National Finance Committee. “I thought we should look across the US to add to our international assortment.”
Working with staff members at Tabula Tua is like having a fashion stylist at your disposal, as they have the ability to hone in on each client’s taste, blending textures, patterns, and colors to create a sophisticated tableau.
