In accordance with the era's decadence, the name of Penhaligon’s Juniper Sling ($110-140) sounds more cocktail than eau de toilette. That’s because the brand’s master perfumer, Olivier Cresp, based the unisex fragrance on the scent of London Dry Gin and the "bright young things" who drank gin-based beverages in 1920s Great Britain. Juniper Sling has head notes of orange brandy, cinnamon, angelica, and of course, juniper berry, and is complemented by heart and base notes like cardamom, brown sugar, and leather.
